WALDOBORO — The Medomak eighth grade baseball team hosted Hope-Appleton-Lincolnville for a middle school baseball contest Tuesday, May 3. 

The host Riverhawks were handed a defeat 6-3 in the contest. 

Medomak plated one run in the first frame, one in the third and one in the sixth.

HAL scored two runs in the second inning, three in the third and one in the fifth. 

Working the pitcher’s mound for Medomak were Wyatt Simmons (four strikeouts, five hits, two walks), Owen Dostie (four strikeouts, four walks, one hit) and Ashton Francis (two strikeouts, one hit). 

Pitching for HAL were Tucker Whitley (eight strikeouts, four walks, one hit) and Thomas L. (five strikeouts, three walks, four hits). 

At the plate for Medomak: Josh Blake (home run), Simmons (RBI), Tucker Brown (double), Kaiden Quinn (single), Austin Wilshire (single), L.J. Hollub (RBI) and Dima Cheesman (single).
