AUGUSTA — The Midcoast Babe Ruth League will be participating in the upcoming statewide 13-15 year-old Babe Ruth all-star baseball tournament at the CARA Complex (Morton and McGuire Fields in Augusta.

The Midcoast team will consist of A.J. Giberson and Micah Tomasello from the Damariscotta Lions; Josh Blake, Porter Gahagan, Gabe Lash and Sam Moody from Waldoboro and Blade Brann, Dominic Frisone, Bryson Mattox, Taygan McAllister, Gavin Ripley, Gilbert Stewart, Jacob Watkinson and Dylan Winslow from Rockland Ford.

Don Shields from Rockland Ford will be the team’s manager, while Allen Tomasello and Matt Moody from Waldoboro will serve as coaches.

The tournament begins Thursday, July 15 at 5 p.m. when Midcoast plays Capital Area on Morton Field.

Teams from Skowhegan, Tri-County and Saco Bay will also participate in the double elimination tournament running through Sunday, July 18.

The state champion will advance to the New England regional tournament in Trumbull, Connecticut that begins Friday, July 23.

The winner of the Midcoast-Captial game will challenge Saco Bay on Friday, July 16 at 5 p.m. with the loser playing the loser of Skowhegan/Tri-County on Friday at 11 a.m.
