Waldoboro Library hosts presentation on biking the Netherlands

WALDOBORO — The Waldoboro Public Library, 958 Main St., will host a free program on bicycling in the Netherlands Wednesday, June 17, at 7 p.m.
Carolyn Bryant and Donald Sarles took a two-week bike-and-barge tour in the Netherlands, during which they and six other American and Canadian cyclists pedaled from Amsterdam to Bruges, a distance of about 300 miles. Led by Dutch guides, the group covered 30 to 40 miles a day, with meals and sleeping accommodation on a barge. Bryant will present an illustrated description of their trip, and will discuss aspects of bicycle culture in the Netherlands and Belgium.
