Muddy Boots Series of free children's concerts at Bay Chamber
Muddy Boots Series free interactive series offers children the freedom to move and dance at concerts created just for them. Some of Bay Chamber's favorite musical artists play pieces from around the globe. No need to register.
The first Muddy Boots concert, Saturday, February 15, at 11 a.m., will excite kids and parents alike, according to Bay Chamber, in a news release. Rasa String Quartet’s program features a diversity of pieces ranging from Haydn to Pink Floyd to contemporary "musical explorer" Grahm Cohen.
“We always say clapping, hollering, and general giving of love and energy at any point in the show is much appreciated,” says Rasa founder Kiyoshi Hayashi, who plays viola and violin in the ensemble.
Here is a list of upcoming Muddy Boots concerts:
Zachary Sweet, cello, and Kerry Mizrahi, piano: Saturday, March 1, at 11 a.m. – Sweet and Mizrah will play pieces old and new, including classic works by Bach and Schumann.
Halcyon String Quartet: Saturday, March 29, at 11 a.m. – Halcyon’s Muddy Boots concert for children is inspired by Munro Leaf’s beloved children’s book, The Story of Ferdinand. The quartet combines music, story, and illustration in a performance for all ages. Musical selections include classical favorites, folk tunes and nostalgic childhood songs.
Falu's Bazaar, Saturday, May 24, at 11 a.m. – Singer/Songwriter Falu Shah introduces children to the wonders of South Asian music. Her songs will take them on a musical journey through South Asia and the day-to-day wonders of childhood. A Grammy Award winner and internationally renowned artist, Shah blends modern style with Indian classical and folk music. The concert celebrates the ways music can express differences and connections across cultures.
