Carole Sue Burnham, obituary
ROCKLAND — Carole Sue Burnham, 79, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Breakwater Commons in Rockland, Maine.
Carole was born in Louisville, Kentucky on February 10, 1945 to the late Edward S. Stowers and Elsie M. Sanders.
She was a graduate of Butler High School and went on to receive her Master’s in Education from the University of Louisville. She was a schoolteacher for over thirty years. Spending 19 years as an Art Teacher at Newburgh Elementary School before she retired in 2000.
She enjoyed painting, knitting, sudoku, and animals. She was especially fond of works by Georgia O’Keeffe and Charlie Harper. Carole also spent a lot of time traveling, her travels included Eastern providences of Canada, and the lower 48 states.
Carole is predeceased by her parents and her step daughter, Joyce Burnham.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, John Harry Burnham; daughters Alyssa (Jim) Hooper of Hemlock, New York, and Trish (John) Keller of Clayton, Indiana; step sons Jim (Marta) of Iowa and Jay (Nancy) of Seattle, Washington; sister Patty Stowers of Louisville, Kentucky; granddaughters Cecilia and Caroline Daily and many cousins.
At this time there will be no services.
