Gerald Robert Allen, obituary
Gerald Robert Allen, 83, passed away on August 22, 2024, in Rockport, Maine. Born on July 20, 1941, in Bangor, Maine, Gerald lived a life marked by dedication to his community and a love for simple pleasures.
Gerald served the town of Friendship as a garbage man, a role he held with pride, ensuring the cleanliness and well-being of his community. He was a man of simple tastes and hobbies, including attending yard sales, listening to country music, singing, fishing, and playing Yahtzee. These activities reflected his easygoing and homebody nature, bringing him joy and relaxation.
He is survived by his significant other, Deborah Feltis; sons, Scott Black, Dewayne Black, and Gerald R. Allen; and stepson, Roger Feltis Jr.; daughter, Theresa Guthrie; sisters Claire Higgins, Phillis Martin.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Calvert, Clifford, Ralph, and Ronald Allen; and his sisters Kathleen Springer, and Carolyn Hackley.
A celebration of life will be held on September 14, 2024, at 1 p.m., at the United Methodist Church, in Friendship.
