Medomak Valley’s 1970 baseball team to be honored
ROCKLAND — The 1970 Medomak Valley varsity baseball team that won the state championship will be honored by the Midcoast Sports Hall of Fame as an outstanding team during its Hall of Fame ceremony Oct. 8 at the Rockland Elks Lodge.
The team, which posted a 21-4 record, was coached by Bob Green, who was assisted by Lou Cook.
Also being recognized are the 2001 and 2002 Boothbay Region High School football teams. Both teams won Class C state championships. The 2001 team had a record of 10-2 while the The 2002 team went undefeated at12-0. The head coach was Tim Rice while assistant coaches were J.R. Garret, Ted Brown, Matt Rice, Chris Norton, and Jack Tourtillotte.
