Walter Flanders, Sr., obituary
ROCKPORT — Walter Flanders, Sr., 63, passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2024, with his family at home.
Walter was born in Camden, on August 10, 1961, to the late Albert A. and Betty Nelson Flanders. Walter graduated from Rockland High School where he played football. He spent his summers fishing and clamming with his family.
In August of 1987, Watler married Kathleen Shaw. Walter worked many years at Mystic Woodworks and Once-A-Tree, retiring from there as a foreman.
Walter enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle, coaching sports for his children, and was active in scouting with both of his children.
Predeceased by his parents, Albert A. Flanders and Bette N. Flanders; two brothers, Albert and Clarence; and a sister, Laura; Walter is survived by his wife, Kathleen Shaw-Flanders; his two children, Walter Flanders Jr. and his partner Latasha, Stacy Flanders and her partner Jesse Groth; his granddaughter Kaydence Flanders, who was his pride and joy whom he loved spending time with; his sister Marion Flanders-Flowerr; along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to visit Friday, December 20, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
