I'm writing to urge the voters of House District 37 to join me in protecting the autonomy of women and vote for Scott Cuddy as our State Representative. The towns in this district are Western Frankfort, Prospect, Stockton Springs, Searsport and Winterport. 

Cuddy previously served two terms as our representative. When it comes to issues around women's health care, he has been unwavering in his support for letting women make their own choices about their bodies and not passing over control of these personal matters to legislators. Around our country we continue to see the diminishing safety and security of both women and medical professionals where these rights have been stripped away.

The healthcare professionals are reluctant to make life-saving recommendations for fear of legal ramifications, and in some cases their female patients are experiencing unnecessary complications and even death. These are facts! And don't be lax and think this couldn't happen here. If the political power in Augusta were to change hands, I assure you that there will be bills  lined up to do just that. Conversely, there has never been a bill proposed or passed to remove men's control over their bodies.

In the most recent legislative session, Cuddy's opponent voted against women's rights to control their own bodies 100% of the time. It is ironic that I'm relying on a man in this race to protect my rights to bodily autonomy, but there you have it.
