Talma “Tami” McGinley Pratt, obituary
STOCKTON SPRINGS — Talma “Tami” McGinley Pratt, 63, of Stockton Springs, Maine passed away, surrounded by family, on Tuesday November 26, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer.
Talma, known to most as Tami, was born on November 1, 1961 and was the daughter of John and Florinda McGinley in California. She grew up in Monterey, California and graduated from Monterey High School in 1979.
Tami moved to Belfast, Maine shortly after high school and has called the area home since. She is well known for her honesty and helping those in need. She had a big laugh and an even bigger heart. Tami loved her family and was very excited for this current season of life as “Grammie” which she absolutely rocked the last 2.5 years. She spent her life as a devoted professional housekeeper, and dog sitter, and was excited to be celebrating 20 years as manicurist in her salon, Relaxed Nails.
She is survived by her husband, William Pratt of Stockton Springs; daughters, Laura Lougheed (Chris) of Knox and Alana Hutchins (Evan) of Swanville; the joys of her life – her grandchildren, Alden and Brooks Lougheed, and Calliope and Zev Hutchins; sisters-in-law Kate McGinley, Betsy Dean Sheppard (Jack), Sue Grinnell (Dave), and Kathie Pratt (Kurt); lifelong bestie Karla Smith Mellinger; close friends Peg Woitko and Linda Bowe; and many wonderful friends and clients.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Florinda; brother Ron McGinley; and parents-in-law, James and Martha Joan Pratt.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 3 - 6 p.m., at the Belfast Yacht Club, 15 Front Street, Belfast. The family would love it if you could wear purple or houndstooth in honor of Tami, and come share some food and stories.
