Saturday morning snaps at Camden’s Windjammer Festival

CAMDEN — The 21st annual Camden Windjammer Festival is underway with glorious weather, drawing many people to reserve spots aboard the daysailers for a couple of hours offshore in Penobscot Bay.
The annual Lobster Crate Race got underway at the head of Camden Harbor at 11 a.m. and, dozens of racers will hope their feet are fleet and nimble as they try to skim across as many crates as they can in two minutes.
There’s a full day of action down on the waterfront and the public landing today, including West Bay Rotary Club’s Chowder Challenge from noon to 2 p.m. Saunter over and join in the voting for your favorite recipes from all of the samples your ticket buys. Lunch of chowder will get you ready for this year’s new event: the First Fish Relay Race at 2 p.m.
