Russell E. Ring, obituary
UNION — Russell E. Ring, who passed away on January 13, 2025, has joined his father’s ancestors in a small family cemetery in Richmond, where he was born on May 7, 1931.
Russell graduated from Richmond High School and Boston University, and he served with the 5th Air Force during the Korean War.
His career began in advertising in New York City, then as Advertising and Public Relations Director for Marriott in Washington, D.C., before joining Thomas Cook Travel Agency (then Olson-Travelworld), for whom he led groups throughout the world.
He was retired and living in Union, Maine where he and his partner built a house in 1991.
Surviving are his nieces Cheryl Ring of Augusta, Maine and Lynne Weber of Merdingen, Germany; his nephews Scott Savage of Atlanta and David Ring of La Habra Heights, California; cousin Holly Witham of Monrovia, California, and several great-nephews and great-nieces with whom he kept in touch.
There will be no public service.
