ROCKLAND — Rockland Community Sailing, at The Apprenticeshop, will be hosting the 2014 “Show Up and Sail” Regatta Sunday, Oct. 5. 

The event will include sailors from seventh and eighth grades and is a junior varsity level event, according to a notice of race provided to the Pilot.

Racers will race in Vanguard Collegiate 420s and will race from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Rockland Harbor, near the Breakwater. 

There will be a total of 12 teams from eight sailing communities, including those from the Rockland, Camden, Yarmouth, Cape Elizabeth, Boothbay, Southern Maine, Cheverus and Portland areas.
