Robert Leroy Littlehale, obituary
WARREN — Robert Leroy Littlehale, 92, of Warren was called home to rest on December 4, 2024, at his daughter’s home in Friendship with his children by his side.
Robert (Bob) was born April 24, 1932, the son of William Clayton Littlehale and Jennie Creamer Standish. Robert attended schools in Bremen, Waldoboro, and Warren. He began his work life at a young age digging clams, working at Reed’s Gift Shop, and the Warren Woolen Mill.
He joined his father for a trip to Aroostook County for the potato harvest season and that is where he first met his bride-to-be. He married Barbara Jean Moore on December 31, 1955, and they settled in Warren. Together they raised six children. Robert was a hard worker and with his faith and trust in God, he worked earnestly providing for his family for many years. For several years he worked at Wirthmore Feeds and operated his chicken farm with 20,000 laying hens. With his trucking business, he would take his eggs to “the county” and return with potatoes or seed potatoes to deliver to stores and restaurants. In the summers, he trucked produce out of Boston. In 1969, he also started driving the school bus in Warren part-time, which eventually became full time and lasted over 40 years. In the early 1970’s, he and his wife operated the 5 J’s Restaurant in the Warren village and in the 1980’s he built a small restaurant next to his home, the 5 J’s Take Out. He also worked many years as a food salesman for Monarch and Sysco. Robert had many loyal customers who always appreciated the pride and knowledge he had in his work.
Robert learned to play guitar at 6 years old and throughout his life, his favorite pastime was playing guitar, singing, and yodeling. With his stage name of Bob Randall, he worked as a DJ playing country oldies and performing live for WRKD. He also performed live shows at local venues. When he could no longer play his guitar, he continued to sing hymns and the country oldies using online karaoke. The family wants to extend a special thank you to Dr. Brad Samojla and his medical staff for going the extra mile to help Robert.
In addition to his mother and father, and his wife Barbara Jean, Robert was predeceased by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Stanley and Marion (Perrigo) Moore; sisters Carolyn Smallwood and Grace Wood; granddaughter, Jaime Lynn Littlehale; and several in-laws.
Robert is survived by his children Janet Clark and her husband John of Florida, Joan MacNeill and her husband David, Jeannie Wood and her husband Scott, Julie Tracy and her husband David all of Warren, Jacquelyn Jackson and her companion Chris Achorn of Friendship, Robert Littlehale II of Union; his brother, Gene Littlehale of Bath; his grandchildren, Jared Littlehale (Shari), Christy Preston (Tom), Laurie Preston Stiles (Tim), Taylor MacNeill (Grace), Michael Wood (Monica), Ryan Wood, Laura Tracy (Justin), Kevin Tracy (Jackie), Jennifer Tracy (Will), Devan Robinson (Emily), Natasha Jackson, Fontana Wooden (Chris), Jacoby McDaniel, Cameron Littlehale, Owen Littlehale and his 16 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren.
