Rain drops don't stop the Christmas by the Sea revelers, shoppers, ornament makers

It might have looked from the outside as though the rain was putting a major damper on Saturday's Christmas by the Sea activities, but a tour around Camden and Rockport gleaned that there were lots of people indoors, visiting baby cows, chatting up handcrafters, shopping for holiday decorations and drinking warm cocoa.
As the afternoon marches on, the Holly Berry and the Artisan fairs have closed up shop for another year, and Santa Claus has made his rounds out to Lincolnville Beach, but the Merryspring Holiday Bazaar continues in downtown Camden until 6 p.m. and the Christmas Candlelight Home is open for tours until 8 p.m.
From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Chestnut Street Baptist Church is hosting its annual "Walk Through Bethlehem," with live animals as well as actors playing various roles and telling their character's stories.
Christmas by the Sea continues Sunday with horse and carriage rides through downtown Camden from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Shops and stores will again be open, and Hoboken Gardens in Rockport and Hawthorn Inn hosting open houses with refreshments, among other things. The Christmas Candlelight Home will again be open Sunday, as will the Merryspring Holiday Bazaar.
If you didn't catch the Atlantic Ballet Company's performance of The Nutcracker Saturday afternoon, a second full-length show gets underway at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the Camden Opera House.
Then at 7 p.m., Anne Dodson & Friends hold their 27th annual seasonal concert at Camden Congregational Church. Tickets for both are available in advance and at the box office/door.
