Mountain Mayhem 12-hour mountain bike and trail running event at Mt. Abram
GREENWOOD — WinterKids Mountain Mayhem, a 12-hour mountain bike and trail running event, will take place Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, from 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m., at Mount Abram in Greenwood, Maine.
This is a fundraising event for WinterKids, a nonprofit organization focused on helping Maine children develop healthy habits through education and outdoor winter activities.
WinterKids Mountain Mayhem is an opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy the beautiful Maine outdoors while supporting a cause. Participants can choose to participate in either a 12-hour mountain bike challenge or a 12-hour trail run. The event is open to individuals 16 years old and up, and teams of up to 6 people of all levels, from novice to expert.
"WinterKids Mountain Mayhem is a unique and exciting way for people to support our mission of helping Maine children develop healthy habits through education and outdoor winter activities," said Julie Mulkern, Executive Director of WinterKids, in a news release. "We are thrilled to be partnering with our long-time supporter, Mount Abram, to bring this event to life, and we look forward to seeing everyone out on the trails."
In addition to supporting a great cause, participants in WinterKids Mountain Mayhem can earn incentives, win a variety of prizes, and enjoy food, a special Mountain Mayhem brew courtesy of Orono Brewing Co., live music, and more.
