ROCKLAND — Julia L. Tupper, died peacefully, Sunday, October 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, at the Sussman House in Rockport, just one day shy of her 88th birthday. Born in Rockland, October 28, 1936, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Louisa Peters Barter. Julia grew up in the Bog, was educated locally, she graduated from Rockland High School, class of 1955.
A hard worker her entire life, Julia held several jobs while raising her 9 children. She was humble and selfless and would do anything to help others.

Her family was her number one priority, and she loved hosting and planning cookouts for them. Any chance to get together was something she relished. Her children remember going to the Lobster Festival Parade each year, all gathering and watching from the same spot at the end of Gay Street where she lived since 1972.
