Investigation continues after vehicle crashes into Lincoln's Country Store building
WARREN — Several studs that had been knocked down after a vehicle struck a garage door were found to be useful in preventing further damage.
After the vehicle hit the wall of the loading and unloading area for freight at Lincoln's Country Store (gas station and market) on Route 90, Monday afternoon, Feb. 3, 2025, firefighters determined the building to be structurally sound, according to Fire Chief Greg Andrews. However, to help secure the structure against the possibility of further wall and ceiling collapse, the crew reused several of the loosened studs for their temporary ballast.
Along with Warren's ambulance service, Andrews estimates that 10 firefighters or so responded to the crash after receiving the alert at 4:20 p.m. All responders were cleared to leave after about 30 minutes.
The ambulance did not transport any patients to the hospital.
The Knox County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.
