Hannah Felton Williamson, obituary
CAMDEN — Hannah Felton Williamson, 91, resident of Camden, died on December 7, 2024. She was formerly of Newark, Delaware (for 40 years, but she still kept her southern accent), and North Charleston, South Carolina. She was born June 28, 1933 in South Carolina, and was the youngest daughter of John R. Felton and Mollie Davenport Felton.
Hannah Love enjoyed growing up in North Charleston, a small community where everyone knew you and your family. At 14, she received her driver’s license and drove the delivery truck for her father’s grocery store, Felton’s Mercantile Co. On occasion, when delivering groceries to certain homes, there were freshly baked cookies available for Hannah to sample before making her next delivery stop.
In November of 2011, Hannah moved to Camden. She loved bowling, gardening, knitting, and old movies. She enjoyed traveling to visit family and adventuring to see the country side of Ireland. Hannah loved going to Broadway shows and everything Disney, especially with her grandchildren. At Quarry Hill, when she was in Independent Living, she was in charge of the movies shown on Friday nights and she wrote movie reviews for the Pen Bay Pilot (Wave Magazine). Sometimes, she was known as “the Mayor of Quarry Hill,” because of how involved she was.
Hannah has always valued her communities and enjoyed a wealth of life-long and valuable friendships. We want to thank the nurses and staff at Quarry Hill and Breakwater Commons for taking such good care of her.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Marguerite Norman Felton, and her son Michael Alan Williamson.
She is survived by her children, J. Richard (Dianne), Theresa (Ken), and Neal (Paula); 6 grandchildren, Audrey, Brian (Naomi), Casey (Griffin), Jaime (Peter), Krista (Curt) and Alexander (Kaylene); great-grandchildren, Austin, James, Theo, Lyra, Rory, and Baby Weisbeck who is to be born in a few weeks (who Hannah called Peaches).
