Gov. Mills relegates to poverty farmworkers who put food on table
Wed, 05/22/2024 - 7:45pm
On May 20, aquaculture trade journal Fish Farmer reported that Great Northern Salmon of Millinocket received a $5 million federal Environment Protection Agency (EPA) grant for site remediation at its planned Millinocket industrial fish farm.
Meanwhile, 27 days earlier, on April 23, Governor Mills vetoed a bill that would have established a state minimum wage for farmworkers.
So the feds fork over $5 million to help corporate Norwegians manufacture seafood for high-end consumers, while Mills relegates to poverty farmworkers who put food on the table for the rest of us. That's pathetic.
