Glenda M. Dennison, obituary
OWLS HEAD — Glenda M. Dennison, 72, died peacefully, following a period of declining health, Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Sussman House in Rockport.
Born on Vinalhaven, she was the daughter of Walter and Hildred Martin Hutchinson. Glenda spent much of her life on the island and was a graduate of Vinalhaven High School.
Later in life, she married Alvin Dennison. Together they made their home in several local towns before settling in Owls Head.
Early in her career, Glenda worked as at the local fish processing plants for several years. Later she became a C.N.A., working at Camden Health Care Center, continuing when that became Quarry Hill Nursing Home. Along with her husband, Glenda enjoyed going to BEANO, especially in Belfast where they had the best winnings!
Over the years she has enjoyed attending several local churches where she made many new friends. She was very proud of the Cuban mission trip she was able to take with her Grace Bible Fellowship church group. Glenda’s caring personality and bright smile will be sadly missed by all who loved her.
Predeceased by her parents and a brother-in-law Raymond ‘Ticket’ Dennison; Glenda is survived by her husband, Alvin Dennison of Owls Head; her sons, Cory J. Dennison and his companion Susan Woodcock of Vinalhaven, Nathan D. Dennison of Owls Head; her grandchildren, Paige and Lincoln Dennison; a brother, Gene Hutchinson and his wife Gladys of Vinalhaven; a sister, Pamela Hutchinson Dennison of Vinalhaven; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service at Browns Head Cemetery, Vinalhaven, will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
