EV article fails to mention Tesla. Why?
Surprised to read an article by Silvio Calabi writing about EVs in Maine on the Fall-Winter issue of Wave.
The article is missing a couple of factual details:
1) no mention at all of the leading car sales manufacturer in the U.S. The article fails to mention Tesla? Why is that?
2) Having it wrong about range / cost.
He says vehicles with range of 400 miles costs more than $100,000 so it makes impractical drive to N.J. from Maine.
I travel between Connecticut and Rockland on a regular basis with a 340 mile range Model Y.
It costs $45,000 before $9,500 of federal incentives, plus savings on maintenance and fuel. See a screenshot below.
I stop at a rest stop in Massachusetts for 15 minutes to recharge (while going to the bathroom and maybe eating something) and that gives me an extra 150 miles of range.
This article sounds to me like one of those cases he refers to as, “ Political Posturing and Alternative Facts.”
