Born on July 11, 1950, Doug devoted his life to his faith, family, and country. Doug served honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1979 to 1994 as an Electronic Technician, demonstrating a profound commitment to his duties and his nation. After his military career, he continued in the field of electronics, working with MSC from 2003 to 2013 and later teaching as an Electronics Instructor at Star Center AMO until 2018. His commitment to spreading the love of Jesus was evident in his participation and service within these communities.
Doug's personal interests were as rich and varied as his professional life. He was a World War II enthusiast, an avid reader, and had a passion for repairing and listening to older radios, a hobby that allowed him to connect with history and technology in a unique way.
His life was not without its struggles, notably his battle with alcoholism. However, Doug's final eight years were marked by sobriety and a dedicated effort to make amends and enrich the lives of those around him. His storytelling, often infused with lessons from his own experiences, will be remembered by all who knew him.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, June Peters of Largo, Florida; his children, Douglas Peters Jr. of Belfast, Maine, Eugene Peters of Angola, New York, Alexander Cosenze of Rockland, Maine, Andrew Cosenze of Los Angeles, California, Leah Allen of Searsport, Maine, Abigayle Cosenze-Webb (Matt) of Newburgh, Maine, and Amber Peters of Belfast, Maine.
