BELMONT — Dennis M. Vaughan, 68, of Belmont, passed away on February 3, 2025. Dennis was a very strong-willed and determined person. During the past year, he experienced declining health but had a fierce instinct and determination to survive. His will to live was remarkable and though his life was not what it once was, he made the decision to live and continue fighting. Unfortunately, Dennis lost the fight on February 3, in Bangor, Maine.

Dennis was born to Malcolm Vaughan and Patricia Annis (Vaughan) Reed on February 27, 1956, in Belfast, Maine. He was a member of the Belfast Area High School class of 1974 and went on to serve in the United States Army.

Dennis loved his family, especially his children, and looked forward to their visits. He enjoyed weightlifting and karate and was quite amazing in the quickness, and accuracy of nunchucks. He will always be remembered with Love and for his quick wit and charismatic character.

Dennis was predeceased by his parents; stepfather, Theodore F. Reed; and two children: Jana Marie Vaughan and Dennis “Boo” Vaughan.

Dennis is survived by his children Dennis M. Vaughan Jr. (Amanda), Kayla Mayo (Bob), Jared Vaughan (Miranda), Mac, Shifra, Micah, and Israel Vaughan; siblings: Diane Jackson, Lisa Vaughan, Ted Reed (Karen), Sharon Reed-Hall (Buz), Karen Stams (Travis), Brenda Reed (Ethan) and Merl Reed (Tamie); and grandchildren: Evelyn, Noah, Alice, Cora, Lydia, Ashton and Gabriel.

Visiting hours will be February 15, 2025, from 2-4 p.m., at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast, ME 04915
