Craig A. Davis Sr, obituary
ROCKLAND — Craig A. Davis Sr, 77, passed peacefully on August 22, 2024 in his home with family by his side. Born in Hope, Maine on March 28, 1947, he was the son of Edward and Beatrice Davis.
Craig was a Vietnam Veteran, served in the Army Oct 1965-Oct 1967, and received Citation by Direction of the President (Air Medal). He actively participated in more than twenty-five aerial missions over hostile territory. Craig was an Elks member with the Rockland lodge #1008 and served as an Exalted ruler (2009-2010). He was a member of the American Legion.
Craig enjoyed trout fishing, college football, and Casino trips spent with family. Craig will be remembered most for his devotion to God and his faith, his love for his family, love for his country and his generosity to charities.
Craig is survived by his sons, Craig Davis Jr and wife Stephanie of Warren, Bill Davis and wife Beth of Warren, Kevin Davis and wife Angie of Cushing; brothers Dwight Davis, Harvey Davis and wife Rachael, Terry Davis and wife Judy, George and wife Phyllis, Adrian and wife Brenda; sisters Lisa King and Husband Wayne, Twyla Caulfield, Terry Gray.
Grandchildren; Devin Davis, Trevor Davis, Jacob Davis, Kaleb Davis, Chelsea Davis, Brooke Davis, Kyle Dinsmore, and Autumn Dinsmore. Several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Predeceased were siblings Roy Davis, Carroll “Chummy” Davis, Larry Davis, Kim Davis, Louise “Sister” Davis, Darlene Davis, and Dede Davis.
Friends are invited to visit with Craig’s family Wednesday, September 4, from 4 - 6 p.m., at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland ME.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 12 p.m., at Burpee Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home; Pastor Mike Ferland will officiate. Interment will follow in the Fairview Warren Cemetery.
