Corey D. Williams, obituary
SOUTH THOMASTON — Corey D. Williams, 49, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 9, 2025, shortly after enjoying a cherished visit with his parents in Florida.
Born in Rockport on October 30, 1975, to Kenneth and Glennice (Chadwick) Williams, Corey was deeply rooted in the local community. A 1994 graduate of Rockland District High School, he embarked on a career in the automotive parts industry that would span nearly three decades.
Most recently, Corey was a familiar and trusted presence at the Pro Desk at CarQuest in Rockland, where customers and colleagues alike came to rely on his extensive knowledge and friendly demeanor. His dedication to helping others and attention to detail earned him the respect of countless customers throughout the years.
Athletics played a significant role throughout Corey's life. His passion for baseball began in Little League and continued through his years on the Varsity team at Rockland. An avid sports enthusiast, he took particular pleasure in following New England teams, with the Celtics and Red Sox holding special places in his heart. Though golf may not have been his primary sport, he treasured the time spent on the course with his father, creating lasting memories with each round they shared.
While quiet by nature, Corey fostered deep and meaningful friendships. He maintained a close circle of friends whom he considered family, and his playful sense of humor brought joy to his coworkers, who became more than just colleagues over the years.
His unexpected passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Thelma Williams and his maternal grandparents, Harold and Lois Chadwick; Corey is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Glennice Williams of South Thomaston; his sister, Renee Philbrook and her husband Lee of Rockport; his nephews, Riley, Evan and Ryan Philbrook all of Rockport; his uncles, Carleton ‘Carly’ Chase and his wife Julie, Alvin Chase and his wife Belinda all of South Thomaston, Wayne Chadwick and his wife Marie of Sebec; his aunts, Patricia Slack and her husband Ed of Oakland, Yvonne D’iorio and her husband Anthony of Raymond, New Hampshire; two special friends who were like brothers, Tom Farrell of Rockland and Greg Achorn of Florida; his ‘Momma JoJo’ Joyce Philbrook of Owl’s Head; many cousins, including Jared Chase with whom he shared a special bond; and a large extended family.
