Constance Grant Morris, obituary
ROCKLAND — Constance Jean ‘Connie’ Grant Morris, 71, died peacefully, Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport. Born in Rockland, February 10, 1953, she was the daughter of Gerald, Sr. and Phyllis Bean Grant.
While living in Virginia, Connie met William ‘Bill’ Cain, the love of her life, while he was working for the US Government. In the late 1990s, the couple returned to Maine, residing in Rockland.
While here, Connie worked at the local Hannaford grocery store, and later as a caregiver and housekeeper at Bartlett Woods Retirement Community. There she made many friends and was always willing to give a helping hand to the residents.
Connie had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her fur-babies, Terrah, Maxamillion and most recently Minnie, all Dobermans or Min-Pins. She also took great pleasure in feeding the hummingbirds and squirrels around her home. She loved a good shopping trip and was a collector of anything odd or alien related.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Predeceased by all her siblings and a grandson, Brandon Cain; Connie is survived by her beloved companion of over 30 years, William Cain formerly of Norfolk, Virginia, now of Rockland; her children, Amy Perry and her husband Bruce of Cleveland, Ohio, Heather Ludwig Davis of Washington, Maine, Jeremia and Farra Hastings of Machias, Maine; several grandchildren, including Thomas Cain Jr., Tori Cain; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Connie’s life will be held Monday, September 16, 2024, at 4 p.m., at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
Interment will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Achorn Cemetery.
