CHRHS’ Cinderella makes wishes come true
ROCKPORT — This past November members of the Camden Hills Regional High School, produced the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein's musical: Cinderella. At each intermission, colorful flashing wands were sold, with proceeds benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Audience members participated in the final scene of each show by waving their wands with the Fairy Godmother as she sang: "Move a mountain, Light the Sky, Make a wish come true. There is music in you."
The wands sold out the first weekend, causing a flurry of activity behind scenes to create some special Murphy wands, in order that all audience members could participate.
Flashing Blinky Lights, the company that created the wands, specially shipped extra wands for the second weekend of shows — donating half of the shipping costs when they heard the goal of the wand sales was to benefit Make-A-Wish.
Extra wands were sold to the CHRHS community before Thanksgiving break and also donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The cast and crew of the Camden Hills' production of Cinderella presented a total of $2800 in donations to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
