Camden Harbormaster: Prepare to pull watercraft

CAMDEN — Cooler temperatures have arrived and Columbus Day is a little more than two weeks away, both signals that fall is just around the corner. These realities mean that Camden Harbormaster Steve Pixley is sending notice to harbor users that it's time to start making plans to put boats away for the season.
For all but those who have purchased a winter dinghy storage permit, harbor users are being notified that dinghies must be removed from all town floats on or before Oct. 10.
The Oct. 10 deadline also applies to all finger float boats.
According to the Harbor Ordinance, any boat or dinghy left on the floats after that date will be removed at the owner's expense.
Information about winter dinghy storage permits, as provided by Camden Harbor Clerk Marlene Libby, follows.
"This winter, no dinghies will be allowed to be left on the dock in front of the harbormaster's office without a winter storage permit. If you need to leave your dinghy in [the harbor] after the Oct. 10 removal date, you will need to purchase a winter permit for $100 at the town office in order to utilize the turnover dock in front of the harbormaster's office."
Libby can be reached at the town office at 207-236-3353 ext. 111. Pixley's office number is 236-7969.
