Barbara Elizabeth Grigor, obituary
ROCKLAND — Barbara Elizabeth Grigor, 86, died peacefully, following a long illness, Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Breakwater Commons in Rockland. Born in Rockport, February 16, 1938, she was the daughter of Ernest, Sr. and Inez Davis Douglas. Educated locally, she was a 1958 graduate of Rockport High School. On November 7, 1959, Barbara married Robert Guria Grigor, whom she had met at the Rockland Roller-Rink.

With Robert’s hard work and construction skills, they worked tirelessly to make a beautiful home for their family. They welcomed a second daughter, Dorothy in 1962 and then Linda in 1964. For over 30 years they remained in their Camden Street home together until Mr. Grigor’s passing in 2003.
An accomplished seamstress, Barbara worked for over 17 years at Van Baalens as a stitcher. Following the closing of that business, she worked making children’s clothing at Common Sense Designs in Nobleboro. She finished her career as the seamstress for Park Street Laundromat.
A woman of strong faith, she was a long-time member of the Littlefield Memorial Baptist Church. Her daughters remember attending with their mother as young girls.
