Albert E. Colson, Sr., obituary
ROCKLAND — Albert E. Colson, Sr., 84, went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, at Pen Bay Medical Center on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Born in Rockland on March 23, 1940, he was one of nine children of LaForest and Sara Perry Colson.
Albert married Joan Turner in 1960, and they were blessed to have 64 years of marriage together. He dedicated himself to providing for his family, beginning his career at the age of 18 at Marine Colloids/FMC. He devoted 44 years to the organization and became a Master Electrician. After his formal retirement, he went on to run Albert’s Electric of Rockland, keeping busy with work until his passing.
Albert held a special place in his heart for his animals, having welcomed many different pets into his life throughout the years. He also had a passion for classic cars and enjoyed remodeling his home three separate times over the years. His playful spirit brought joy and laughter to those around him.
Albert was predeceased by all but one of his siblings and his daughter-in-law, Lisa Colson.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan Colson of Rockland; his son, Albert Colson, Jr. of Rockport; his daughter, Carol C. Carlson and her husband Robert of Owls Head; his brother Charlie Colson and his wife Samantha; his grandchildren, Robert Carlson, III and his wife Jessica, Catrina Guiggey and her husband Dave, Christine Morin and her husband Calvin, Rohobot Carlson, Sena Carlson, and Stephanie Colson Barley and her husband Mark; along with 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.
A celebration of life will take place Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 12 noon, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, located at 110 Limerock Street in Rockland. Private interment will be held later.
