APPLETON — Abbie Elaine Esancy, age 88, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024, at her home after a battle with recently diagnosed cancer. Abbie was born Abbie Elaine Hart, on October 13, 1936, to loving parents George and Leola Hart of Burkettville, Maine.

She married her husband, Clyde Omach Esancy, on October 31, 1954, remaining his loving wife until Clyde’s passing on June 7, 1986. A traditional woman, Abbie spent her adult life as a homemaker, maintaining their modest home in Burkettville.

Abbie is survived by her children: Raymond Esancy of Burkettville, Maine; Joyce Baickle of Lisbon, Maine; Georgia Hill of Rockland, Maine; Gloria Withee of Union, Maine; and Cheryl Myrick of Warren, Maine.

She is predeceased by her husband, Clyde; daughter Darlene; brothers Almond, Starlin, and Walter, and sisters Helen, Alice, and Hazel. Abbie has been blessed with 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Abbie is resting at Hall Funeral and Cremation Services in Waldoboro, Maine where no formal services are planned.

Abbie will be interned alongside Clyde at Appleton’s Pine Grove Cemetery on May 5, 2025, at 11 a.m. Flowers for Abbie’s internment may be sent to the funeral home at 949 Main Street, Waldoboro, Maine 04572.
