The Pathway to Worship

During our “Prophetic Training online session, I gave a message on “The Pathway to Worship.” Here is the replay link: https://vimeo.com/1054196751?share=copy

The pathway to worship doesn’t occur when we direct people, such as asking them to stand and clap their hands. Nor by our example, demonstrating worship through our performance, showing what worship looks like for them to imitate. All too often, what is displayed is spiritual pretension.

Worship involves a heart focused on the Lord Jesus Christ. When a worship leader refrains from leading worship, to become worship, it attracts the presence of God. When music has His anointing, it captures the people’s attention and their hearts.  When God’s Spirit is present, the atmosphere is anointed with the life of His presence. It is this awareness of His presence that draws people to engage in worship.

In that awareness of His presence, worship is born that is genuine and deeply personal.

Worship is an encounter with heaven that awakens our spirit and heart to engage in a heartfelt response to God. It leads to an encounter with the living God. King David gave us the pathway when he said, “We enter into His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise” (Psalms 100:4). Here in His presence, our spirit is awakened and sensitive to receive something from Him as we offer our praise with thanksgiving to Him.

True worship is the beautiful place where, in His presence, you become acutely aware of God. As you become aware of Him, God becomes aware of you. Worship isn’t merely about reaching out to Him; it’s a meeting point where a divine exchange occurs where your presence meets His. The place where love is expressed, recognized, and received. It is the place where Abba Father communes with His beloved sons and daughters.

It is this awareness of Him in the place of communion that stirs something deep within, sparking praise to the one who is worthy to be praised.
