‘So You Think You Know Rockland’ quiz show returns
ROCKLAND — The popular downtown audience participation quiz show, "So You Think You Know Rockland", is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 9 at the Strand Theater.
For the past several years the contest, a production of Rockland Main Street, Inc., has pitted multiple teams against each other to see who knows the most about history, trivia, and current events pertaining to the Lime City. History buffs and other interested parties fill the theater seats to cheer for their favorite team and to stand ready to help with answers if necessary.
During the event, which is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., six teams will compete in three separate rounds, with the three round winners facing off against each other for the Championship Round. The winning team will walk away with bragging rights and the much-prized, hand-crafted trophy, created just for the event.
Tickets are $10 for Adults, and $5 for Students under the age of 18. This is a family oriented event, and one that instills pride in the community.
Rockland Main Street, Inc., is a downtown advocacy group that focuses on historic preservation of, and economic development in the downtown district, in addition to producing promotional events like, "So You Think You Know Rockland"; the Summer Solstice Celebration & Street Party; the "Midcoast Maine Has Talent – Or Not!" variety show; the "Rockland Has Style" Fashion Show & Experiential Auction; the "Festival of Lights Parade" and the "Lobster Trap Christmas Tree".
