Mr. and Ms. Thomaston Fourth of July
The Thomaston Fourth of July Committee announced Mr. and Ms. Fourth of July 2014 are Nicholas Judge and Karly Robinson. They are both graduated seniors from Oceanside High School, and were chosen by the faculty based on their grades, activities, leadership, community involvement, and positive outlook.
Karly Robinson, of Rockland, is the daughter of Amy Stendel, of Rockland, and Chip Robinson, of Thomaston. Her school activities included soccer, lacrosse, Trekkers, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the National Honor Society. Karly is employed by Domino’s Pizza. Her future plans are to attend the University of New England to become a registered nurse.
Nicholas Judge is the son of Steven and Kimberley Judge, of Cushing. During all four years of high school, Nicholas played soccer, basketball and baseball. He has also participated in Trekkers, student government and volunteered with the Fourth of July committee. This summer, Nicholas is employed by Brooks Trap Mill in Thomaston. His future plans are to pursue a degree in marine engineering at Maine Maritime Academy in Castine.
Karly and Nicholas will be riding in the 2014 Thomaston Fourth of July parade, which starts at 11 a.m., Friday, July 4. The parade will travel from South to North on Main Street in Thomaston, beginning at Oceanside West School on Valley Street and ending on Erin Street. The parade will be followed by a full day of activities in Thomaston, including a road race, chicken barbeque, free bouncy houses, a hot dog eating contest, and the traditional fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. Rain/fog date for the fireworks is July 5.
